As per the director this is an action film, most of which has been shot in Kadapa, Vikarabad, Hyderabad, Nalgonda and Karnataka. Tamil actor, Daniel Balaji, and theatre actors Mohan Senapathi, Vivek Thakur and Sai Chand are playing important roles in this film.

He got married to Kavitha Rajan, a lawyer, on July 15 in Tirupati. The marriage was a conventional relationship and we hear the couple returned to Chennai post the wedding. Asthamanam is a thriller movie starring Rajesh, Munnar Ramesh, Rajesh Kanagasabai, Victoria, Vidhya. It was scripted and directed by Bandi Saroj Kumar. Music director of this movie is Siddarth Vipin. Director Bandi Saroj Kumar who gave the audience a different kind of technical experience in his first film Porkkalam is back with Asthamanam, which claims to be based on a true nightmare

A group of youngsters venture into a forest for a trekking expedition. Deep in the wilderness, their guide turns up dead and as they try to flee, they are trapped in a nightmare from which escape seems impossible.

When a film is a brain twister, some amount of enthusiasm is expected but Asthamanam travels in a very flat terrain and does not provide any thrill moment anywhere. Saroj Kumar’s attempt at humor also falls flat.

Siddharth Vipin’s music is a nice feature in Asthamanam and also the different camera experience. And the running time of an hour and fifteen minutes could well be a plus point for Asthamanam.
